Gerard Butler filming (Keepers) 7th of April 2017
An Arbroath lighthouse keeper whose death is surrounded in mystery is set to be portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Gerard Butler in a new film.
Butler play's James Ducat, who was one of three men to vanish without a trace from the island of Eilean Mor in the Outer Hebrides in 1900.
Ducat, a 43-year-old with more than 20 years’ experience in lighthouse keeping, had arrived on the deserted island to man the lighthouse with two other men, Thomas Marshall and Donald McArthur.

Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan and Connor Swindells continued filming today at Corsewall Lighthouse. The scene today was at a small cliff inlet in which all the cast were hooked up to safety harnesses as their was a 60 foot drop to the inlet below. They were filming pulling up a box at the cliff edge. Gerard Butler stopped and chatted to the locals that turned out to get a view. Gerard was asked by one local what he missed about Scotland, replying the scenery as well as his favourite sweet a mars bar.
